Review + Swatches: NEW Milani Products

Baked blush- Luminoso HD Advanced Lip Color- Romantic Rose and Classy nude

What Milani has to say:
(Blush) A luxurious powder blush that features a mélange infusion of colors baked on Italian terracotta tiles. Easy to use, sensorial in texture, the nuances of color become extraordinarily luminous. Silky smooth application leaves your face looking healthy and radiant all day.
(Lipstick) Milani introduces 3-in-1 lip color that nourishes, hydrates, and delivers a sheer wash of color with clarity and perfect radiant shine. It instantly comforts dry, chapped lips, and provides long-term moisturization.

Milani has released 9 new shades of baked blushes and I have one in the shade: Luminoso. On the Milani website it is described as a luminous peach and is categorized as having a shimmery finish. I picked up this shade in particular because to me, it looked the least shimmery/glittery of the blushes. Luminoso is a peachy pink (more peach) with tiny golden shimmer. The shimmer in this blush can be tapped away and when it is, it leaves a beautiful peachy-pink color on the skin with a slight golden sheen. I like that even though it is a baked blush, it still has great pigmentation. This blush can kick up quite a bit of powder when running a brush over it but it wasn't too bad. This blush lasts about 3-4 hours on my oily skin, which is actually pretty impressive but not great. I haven't tried the older Milani blushes so I can't compare the two but I've heard raves about them- I think that these newer blushes will not disappoint.

When I saw these new HD lipsticks I immediately thought, MAC Slimshines. For those that are unfamiliar with MAC Slimshines, they were a type of lipstick that had a lipgloss look and feel but still had similar lasting power of a lipstick and sadly, has been discontinued. I loved MAC Slimshines because they were so glossy and were not drying at all like some lipsticks. The lipsticks come in a long black tube that is a little taller than a full size NARS lipgloss. There are tiny bits of shimmer in both lipsticks but it is not visible when applied to the lips. There is a faint candy-watermelon scent and taste (not that I bit a chunk of it :p) to these lipsticks but it doesn't last and I actually find it pleasant- at least it doesn't have that "lipstick" taste or smell to it. The lipstick dispenses by the twisty knob at the bottom and it makes a clicking noise every time you twist (and it can twist back down too). The lipstick itself is very moisturizing and applies very smoothly onto the lips. It doesn't settle into the lines in my lips and lasts 2-3 hours without eating or drinking before I feel the need to reapply. I have Romantic Rose (Rosey pink) and Classy Nude (sheer brownish nude) which are both pretty sheer colors but I don't mind. These Milani HD Advanced Lip Colors are a very good dupe for all of the slimshine lovers out there. :)
